Curved Shears

Curved Shears

Curved shears are a must have for any dog or cat groomer. They make shaping quick and smooth. Creating balanced, symmetrical curves.  Feet, heads, faces or ears, are easy with curved shears. Those that started grooming when there were no curved shears can easily tell you how much easier these shears have made the grooming process.

First, let's talk about what curved pet grooming shears are. These specialized shears feature a curved blade, which allows for greater control and precision when trimming a pet's coat. The curve of the blade makes it easier to follow the contours of the pet's body, creating a more even cut that looks natural and effortless.

One of the main benefits of using curved grooming shears is that they can help prevent accidental cuts or nicks to the pet's skin. The curve of the blade means that it is less likely to accidentally catch or snag the pet's skin, making it a safer tool to use. However, careful attention needs to be on the tip to make sure it doesn't accidently catch the skin.

Additionally, the curved blade allows for a more gradual and controlled cut, which can help prevent the hair from looking choppy or uneven.

Curved shears are also great for creating more intricate and detailed cuts. The curve of the blade allows for greater precision when shaping a pet's coat, making it easier to create the desired look. This can be particularly useful for breeds that require more intricate grooming, such as Poodles or Bichons.

Curved shears are available in many different lengths and severity of the curve.

The length of the shear will be dependent on the size of the groomers hand and the size of the dog being groomed. Curved shears range in a gentle curve to a severe curve with variations of curvature in-between. From 5 inch to 10 inch, there is a curved shear for every size hand and any style you wish to do.

The shorter shears that are under 7 inches are perfect for faces and feet and rumps on small dogs. Curved shears that are 5-5 inches, work wonderful for our cat clients on faces and feet trimming.

A longer curved shear, with a gentle curve can be used both on big dogs and small dogs.

Shears with a gentle curve will shape thighs into a natural shape, curve the knees to flow into the lower leg.

Rumps can be shaped into a symmetrical curve eliminating the scraggly feathering common on double coated dogs.

Tails are styled with a perfect curve with one cut. Shaping ribs and undercarriage gives the dog a neat, natural look quick and easy.

When we look at the severe curved shears,

the curve is a defined curve and are shorter because of the severe curve. These are perfect for round feet, bevels, round faces, ears, and heads. They give a well-defined circular shape to whatever you are shaping.

Whether you are grooming a small or large dog, you will reach for a set of curved shears.
